SUMM Release notes Oct '24
When feedback becomes feedback
At SUMM’s first launch, feedback was (and still is!) one of the core features. Collectively you shared over 18000 tips and tops, and scored each others alignment.
But one thing was bothering us; Feedback felt like an evaluation. You’re leaving scores, you weren’t free to skip any values, and above all; why couldn’t you leave any feedback on a skill..?
That’s about to change. We listened to your suggestions and so we are introducing a new way of feedback, which is quicker, easier and more flexible to your needs. Okay, let’s go!
Feedback on skills, and much more
An improved feedback form
When giving feedback, you’re now able to leave feedback on someone’s skills, as well as your company values. Simply select any of their competencies and leave a tip or a top for them. It’s as easy as that. Feel free to leave feedback on as many competencies as you like; there is no minimum requirement anymore.
A new feedback inbox
We have completely rebuilt your Feedback page. It now shows feedback you received as well as shared. Here, you can read back what others said, as well as your own feedback to others.
We also introduced a new highlights section, which shows you exactly what your current strengths and weaknesses are. Giving you more insight into what your next goals could be!
Your feedback, your needs
Customised focus and requests
When requesting feedback from someone, it’s now possible to customize your request, by adding specific focus points and a custom message. Focus points are mandatory for your feedbacker, so choose them wisely! Adding a personal message and focus points will yield better results, as you’re specifically requesting feedback on certain competencies (skills / cultural).
External feedback
Had a great client interaction? Why not collect some feedback from them? With the new feedback, it’s even easier to request feedback from someone outside your company.
From the old to the new
Culture evaluation
By introducing the new feedback, we transitioned the old culture feedback into a culture evaluation, an evaluation scoring the alignment based on the cultural values. Your previous alignment results (the scores that make up your Culture Rings) have been moved to culture evaluations. Any feedback you previously received will just be right where it was, it only has a different look.
Next up: Evaluations
As we continue our work, things may look rough in the outer edges of SUMM. We are taking a good look at evaluations and improving the flexibility and customisability for each type of evaluation (e.g. goals, skills and culture). The following updates are highly focused on improving the admin’s capabilities on the platform, as well as improving everyone’s user experience and insights. Stay tuned for more awesome features like this one!
And as always, thanks for your suggestions and amazing feedback.
